Denture Adhesive Can Help Block Out Food Particles

A complete or partial denture is designed to replace your missing or previously compromised teeth. While they are custom designed to match the unique shape of your existing oral structure, many denture wearers appreciate denture adhesive for the added hold it provides.

At the same time a thin bead also helps prevent food particles from invading the base of the dentures when you eat. As you go about your day this can help prevent gum irritation to allow the removable dental appliance to fit comfortably in your mouth.

On the outside chance that a little food material works its way in, you will need to rinse it away. Make sure the base of the denture is completely clear of old denture adhesive before drying the base with a clean paper towel. You can then apply a fresh bead of denture adhesive to help secure it back in pace.

You will also need to you rinse and lightly brush your denture when you take it out at the end of the day. This will provide you with clean surface to reapply fresh denture adhesive the next morning.

It’s important to always look for the American Dental Association’s Seal of Acceptance before using a brand of denture adhesive. This small logo printed on the package indicates that the ADA has researched and tested the product for safe oral use.
